http://www.worldbank.org/ida/country/... - Senegal's Minister of Economy and Finance, Amadou Kane, speaks in April 2013 about how IDA has supported the country's development. IDA is the World Bank's fund for the 82 poorest countries in the world.

With IDA support, 1.4 million people in the capital and other urban centers gained access to clean water as a result of a 2001--09 water sector project; 144,000 more people now have a sewerage connection: http://bit.ly/11i6QOA

Thanks to better water management in the Senegal River Basin, fish stocks are up and former migrants are now able to earn a living. The project also led to a significant reduction of malaria incidence in Senegal, Mali and Mauritania: http://bit.ly/13lH3cm
