Installation at Spring Open House, 2010, by first year landscape architecture students... Shows Julie Bargmann, UVA faculty, and students checking out the installation (and adding a note about the fog!). The installation deployed 30 pink thomas jefferson "busts" (plastic piggy banks) onto a square of sod (the faux lawn) on a concrete plinth outside our building (Campbell Hall) for the day of Open House. Fog was provided by hooking up a fog machine inside a vent under the plinth, and was generated intermittently as the HVAC fans blew. A sign had to be added noting that it was fog when several people expressed concern that it looked like there might be a fire.
