Coastal Czar Charles Lester and Santa Cruz County's John Ricker respond to Douglas Deitch, Executive Director-Monterey Bay Conservancy unsuccessfully advocating for Coastal Commission retention of existent Local Coast Plan ground water protections contained in Gary Patton's 1987 County Well Ordinance.

This ordinance had required County declaration of a "ground water emergency" in Santa Cruz County continuously since 1998...until the Coastal Commission allowed it's amendment and Local Coastal Plan change at this meeting in 2009.
