This is a video form the talk Hal Hefner gave at the Transhumanism meets design conference in New York City at Parsons, the New school for design.

Hal discussed his theories on transhumanism and how they are being used in his online graphic novel. Hal Hefner is the creator of Gates, Heavy Metal Magazine's first online comic.

Gates deals with negative Utopian themes and Hefner discusses what could be the possible outcome if science and technology formed their own religion and how it could be used to control society through a system called Controlled, Genetic Management. In Hefner's comic, a despotic government calling themselves the ConGenement, rules their colony with genetic manipulation and science based-religious lies.

Looking at history such as the rise of Adolf Hitler, the Aryan Race and the Vril society combined with religious warring factions throughout time, Hefner goes into details about what facts inspired him.
