It probably will be an understatement to say South Africa saved the best for last. The last medal of the events held at Olympic Stadium was won by Oscar Pistorius. Two days ago the man they call the Blade Runner, promised South Africans something special. He kept the promise clocking a personal best and new Paralympic record of 46.68 seconds out running nearest rival, American, Blake Leeper by more than three seconds. Oscar's victory gave the country the 29th medal of the Paralympic Games to finish on position 17. Overall the country finished on eighth in terms of medals won. Ever gracious, Oscar Pistorius last comment was benign to the disability sports.
