This was a video i shot immediately after i got the Gh2 to test the HDMI Capture. I figured out how to capture a clean image with the Matrox Mini (towards the end you will see the GH2's battery indicator show up on the screen cause i was running outta power, but besides that i got it to record clean ProRes HQ). I also own the canon 7d and have access to the Canon 5d Mark 2 and i will have to say for anyone on a budget this is absolutely one of the best cameras out. It surpasses the 5D mark2 in overall quality in my opinion due to its ability to retain very sharp detail in low light (the 5d still wins in the area of ISO Range above 800. after iso 800 on the GH2 it starts to show noticeable noise..to avoid this just get a good 250-500watt light and you should be good to go). Now bear in mind this is only in terms of video NOT Photography. Canon still is and probably always will win in that area. I plan on getting the Atomos Ninja HDMI recorder in the near future to use with this out in the field (another major plus with this camera unlike canon's HDMI Limitations). This test was shot at home with my Home built machine. I wanted to see if i could get a clean signal out of the came and I did. ill be posting up a tutorial later that will show this process and how i did it...I am still learning the camera so please be patient. Thanks. Ohhh and i will also be doing some tests with some canon Glass i have (85mm f1.2 L, Canon 50mm f1.4, and some EFS lenses..along with Anamorphic Lenses such as the Sankor 16c and LA7200) (this test was shot with the factory kit lens 14-42mm f3.5)
