This year’s Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) was held under the overall theme of Mastering the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Leaders from governments, business and academia gathered to exchange their views on the opportunities and challenges proposed by a new wave of technological revolution and how this would fundamentally impact our lives. Professor Klaus Schwab, together with Professor Danny Quah, discussed on the Leadership needed to thrive in the era Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Prof Klaus Schwab is the Founder and Executive Chairman of the WEF. In 1971, he founded the WEF as a not-for-profit foundation and built it into the foremost international institution for public-private cooperation. In 1998, he co-founded with wife Hilde, the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship, supporting social innovation around the world. He is also the founder of the Forum of Young Global Leaders (2004); and the Global Shapers Community (2011).

Prof Danny Quah is Tan Chin Tuan Visiting Professor at the Economics Department in NUS; and also Director of the Saw Swee Hock Southeast Asia Centre in LSE. He is currently a Professor of Economics and International Development, LSE, and will be joining the LKY School shortly as a Li Ka Shing Professor.
