Four years ago Barack Obama promised to stand with teachers.
President Obama: "I won't just talk about how great teachers are I will reward them for their greatness. We're going to pay our teachers more money. We're going to give them more support."
As President he saved more than 400,000 educator jobs, granted waivers for No Child Left Behind to give local school districts more flexibility, empowered states to reward teachers who get results in the classroom, and made federal student loans more affordable for future teachers.
President Obama: "Question is who are we lifting up? Who are we promoting? Who are we saying is important? I am 110% behind our teachers."
