A United Launch Alliance Atlas V 401 rocket launched Orbital ATK’s Cygnus S.S. John Glenn spacecraft from Space Launch Complex 41 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, on 18 April 2017, at 15:11 UTC (11:11 EDT). As part of mission OA-7 Space Station Cargo Resupply, the spacecraft carries approximately 3380 kg (7452 lb) of internal cargo and an 83 kg (183 lb) external deployer carrying CubeSats. Orbital ATK dedicated Cygnus spacecraft to John Glenn, one of NASA’s original seven astronauts who passed away in December at age 95.
