Over the past few years, several videos produced by animal rights groups have exposed extreme cases of animal cruelty on farms and in slaughterhouses across the country.

In 2008, a Humane Society undercover video from the Westland/Hallmark Meat Co. slaughterhouse in Chino, California led to biggest beef recall in US history.

More recently, Mercy for Animals released undercover video from the E6 Cattle Company in Hart, Texas showing workers bashing in the skulls of calves with hammers and pickaxes, dragging them by their ears, standing on their necks, and leaving them to die without proper care.

To counter the bad publicity, several states have introduced legislation that would make it illegal for people to take undercover photos and videos in factory farms and slaughterhouses.

Do you think these videos should be legislated?

Guests:

Nathan Runkle, Founder and Executive Director of Mercy For Animals
