This photo slide was created based on 10 tips selected from American technology writer and media entrepreneur Dan Gillmor's speeches in Armenia.
Dan Gillmor, professor of practice at the Arizona State University's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, visited Armenia at the invitation of Journalists For the Future NGO with the financial support of the U.S. Department of State Public Affairs Section.
Prof. Gillmor is the author of We the Media (2004) describing the Internet as an opportunity for independent journalists to challenge the consolidation of traditional media and containing Gillmor's widely cited realization: “my readers know more than I do”.
In 2010, Gillmor published Mediactive, a book on digital media literacy, which has recently been translated into Armenian and published by the Journalists For the Future NGO, through the financial assistance of the U.S. Department of State Public Affairs Section.
Between October 7 and 12, Dan Gillmor participated in the presentation event of the Armenian version of Mediactive, as well as made several public speeches at the educational and technological institutions in Yerevan and Gyumri.
Armenian version of Mediactive is available online at JNews.am .
