This video demonstrates green cleaning techniques in hard floor cleaning. Some of the suggestions include incorporating:
• Matting Systems- 85% of all dirt enters a building through the entryways via foot traffic. Proper matting can help reduce dirt and maintain floors. Place a mat at every entry point in a building. All mats should be at least 6 feet in length, preferably 10-20 feet in length.
• For light every day cleaning-use a micro-fiber dust mop.
• For medium cleaning-
Use a dampened flat micro-fiber on smooth continuous surfaces.
Use a dampened microfiber string mop on tiles and broken surfaces.
Use a double bucket/wringer combo to separate soiled from the unsoiled cleaning so
Mop edges of the room, and fill in using a figure 8 motion. Pay extra attention to entryways and other sources of dirt.
• For heavy cleaning-
Use an eco-friendly floor cleaning solution and a microfiber string mop and follow directions to medium cleaning.
• Floor gum removal-
Scrape any chewing gum with a scarper or if possible with a bazooka gum removal machine.
If gum removal product is needed, use removers formulated with chlorinated solvents, dry ice, CO2 or de-greasers
• To Remove scuff marks and heavy soils
To remove scuff marks and heavy soil choose an auto-scrub that works with just water.
