A song I wrote immediately after the events of 1/21/2014. I love Purdue, the Boilermaker family, and everyone associated with this great university. Different people cope with tragic situations in different ways, this is my way.

Lyrics:

My shirt is black and so is my heart
Funny how things can fall apart
But at least we won't face this all alone
By the banks of the Wabash we come home

(chorus)
And we sing
Ever Grateful Ever True
Thus we raise our song anew

We sing
Ever grateful Ever True
Thus we raise this song for you
Yes we raise this song for you

My skin it crawls and my blood burns
My head it spins and my heart yearns
One ship can take you straight to the moon
But one shot can bring you down far too soon

And we sing
Ever Grateful Ever True
Thus we raise our song anew

We sing
Ever grateful Ever True
Thus we raise this song for you
Yes we raise this song for you

To your call we rise once more
Gold and black we're always yours
Of the days we we've spent with you
All hail our own Purdue

And we sing
Ever Grateful Ever True
Thus we raise our song anew

We sing
Ever grateful Ever True
Thus we raise this song for you
Yes we raise this song for you
