Guilford and Conrail powered trains swap engines at (Rosemont) Haverhill,Ma. Guilford brings 4500hp to haul the train Conrail brought in with 11,350hp. It was VERY amusing. The Guilford train was wide open and moving appox. 10mph with a close to 1% grade within a couple of miles, the train took 45 minutes to get to Newton Jct.,NH (about 7 miles) and the GP40 died....They didn't get much farther with the GP7 before dispatch sent a rescue from South Portland.
