The seaside town of Dawlish is a premier resort on the south coast of Devon and, with its glorious bay and dramatic coastline, it's the perfect setting for the spectacle that is 'Dawlish Air Show'.

Each year this event attracts over 80,000 people to watch an array of aircraft take to the sky at this award winning air show.

Taking a look back over the last nine years of the, it's quite remarkable to reflect on the displays that have been seen in the skies over our small seaside town. It bears testament to the efforts of the organising committee and helpers.

Front-line military jets such as the Harrier, Tornado and Typhoon have been joined by formation display teams like The Army's Blue Eagles and dynamic civilian teams like The Blades.

In 2008, Dawlish hosted the Royal Jordanian Falcons and, on a couple of occasions, we've been supported by aircraft from the United States Air Force.

Two displays stand out and have elevated the event to cult status among air show fans -- the Royal Force Role Demonstration in 2008 and the unforgettable sight of the Avro Vulcan flying in formation with the Red Arrows in 2009.

There was hardly a dry eye in the 50,000+ crowd as this amazing flypast was dedicated to the man who first had the vision of an air show in Dawlish -- former Dawlish Carnival Chairman, Brian Heath.

In 2012, Dawlish Air Show changed its format from being a one day in August, to a two day event in June, providing Dawlish with a fitting end to the Town's Diamond Jubilee Celebrations.

As well as the spectacular annual Air Show, we were proud to hold an Armed Forces Day on Thursday, 7th June. A day of family fun and entertainment centred on Dawlish's main Lawn, supported by several divisions of the Armed Forces.

Despite falling foul of poor weather, the Air Show itself, on Friday 8th June, was a great success, culminating with the return of the Royal Air Force's Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows.

Dawlish Air Show attracts families enjoying their annual holiday in this award-winning resort, local residents and day-trippers from all over the South West.

Our show has gained an international reputation and even won an award from the European Air Show Council. As a result, aviation enthusiasts travel from all over the UK and Europe to sample the Dawlish experience.

Dawlish Air Show 2013 takes place on 23rd (ground attractions only) and 24th August, and will mark the event's 10th anniversary as an air show-proper.
