Immigration Injustice.

Valeria Vinnikova was handcuffed and shackled at the Canadian border. American agents evidently thought she posed some kind of clear and present danger to the republic. Was she a dangerous terrorist? Not unless you consider a squash racquet a WMD.
Valeria is the German squash champion who followed her fiancé to the US. Immigration officials told her to cross into Canada, then re-enter the US to renew her visa. That's exactly what she was trying to do. But someone gave her the wrong date, so she accidentally overstayed her welcome. They put her in jail, threatened deportation. For a month her fiancé wondered whether he'd leave his job or lose his love.

Finally, Valeria was set free. She got sprung from the clink after agreeing not to sue Homeland Security. Wonder what the folks back home will think about American common sense and fair play. We can only guess.

That's our opinion. What's yours?
