Master fly tyer, Bill Black shows us how to tie a Blue Wing Olive.

No one really knows the originator, but the Blue Wing Olive is one of the all time best flies in history. A great pattern for imitating many common species of mayflies, particulary the Baetis, which occur in nearly every region of the Northern Hemisphere. This pattern was undoubtably first tied as a wet fly with quill wings. Hackle tip wings have proven to be much more effective on this popular dry fly.
