Maxime version 1.5. In this update, I add some hitsparks and AI (although I'm the one playing in this video) as well as a damage buffer system and a custom juggle counter for aerial raves.
In Mugen, you can set a character's juggle points, but you can never keep track of the juggle points visually. My Rave Bar system keeps track of each hit in a combo and fills the bar until you can't juggle any more. The screen turns red when you have only 20 juggle points left.
His attacks now deal more damage on their own, but he has a damage scaler which prevents you from dealing too much damage with air combos. There's a trick to it though, as some moves will reset the damage scaler, refreshing all the attacks.
Hopefully this will add a bit more substance to his gameplay.
Mauru is a fairly placid opponent. He doesn't attack much, so he was a good target for me to demonstrate the new combo system.
The music playing in this video is "Wings of Blue fire" a piece I composed in Fruityloops 8. It's Maxime's theme tune you could say. I tried to combine the elements of freeform rave and synth orchestration to create a piece that would suit Maxime's frenzied gameplay and freeform combos
