Vader can't use force lightning, for someone to use lightning you need a living hand and Vaders is a fake hand.

Andrew Chadwick plus he'd get electrocuted if he used force lightning
He can, but it would do more damage to him than to his enemy

Gandalf's real name is Olorin. He is an angel sent to Middle-Earth to help fight Sauron. We don't see his full power in the movies because he is strictly told to not use his full power. He was sent not to fight but to give advice to the leaders of Middle-Earth. So there, if both were allowed their FULL potential then Gandalf EASILY takes the cake, he being an angel and all. "Gandalf was the wisest of the Maiar. He was first known as Olórin, and sometimes dwelt in the gardens of Irmo, and was the pupil of Nienna, who taught him wisdom and pity, and of Manwë and Varda." -The LOTR wiki. So that is why gandolf wins.

Huh? Gandalf can't do any of that shit and Vader doesn't have force lighting. Gandolf magic isn't exactly on the same level as a Sith Lord. Vader looks weak going by the old movies, but he is supposed to be very powerful. Powerful enough to hunt down and kill the remaining Jedi. Lucas just didn't have to means to show off how awesome he was.  It's not really a fair comparison. If an army of orcs role up on Gandolf, Gandolf dies. Vader? The army of orcs die. Gandolf usually has to run. Vader doesn't. I don't know where these "Gandolf magical mastery" is coming from. You act like Gandolf is some Everquest or World of Warcraft Wizard on steroids. His magic isn't exactly like that. Even as The White LotR is just not a fireballs and rain of destruction type of magic universe. Gandolf vs. Voldemort make more sense. Actually, no... Voldemort would clearly be too much for Gandolf. OK, Gandolf vs. young Harry Potter. That's a more fair match up.

so true
You're right. Vader cannot use Force lightning because it is stated in lore that you need an organic hand to cast it. To be fair though; that could very well be Kinitite...on the other hand he isn't within proximity of the myr talisman. Soooooo either they were using ALL of his abilities from comics, movies and from what he can do in other media...or it's just simple mis-information.

+beastlysk8r22 oh........well....damn lol
+Deadfox910 he can, but it would fry his life support, however he's so strong in the dark side I feel like the force could keep him alive long enough to get it fixed

I'm a Star Wars fan and all, and the effort put into the fight was good and everything, but seriously, this is stupid. Did they do even an ounce of research on either of these characters? Since when has Vader been able to use Force Lightning? He doesn't have both of his hands. smh.

I think the animated hands that Vader/Anakin and Luke were given, let the blood flow into the hands, with animatronic muscles and all, anyway, the blood flow of their hands/arms contains midi-Chlorians, (This is me after just watching episode 1) which I think is why they can use the force with them, but I'm just speculating... (I think Vader can use Force Lighting, I just don't think Lucas bothered to make him use it, or he hadn't though of Lightning yet, considering its first appear nice was the end of episode 6)

+RetributionGaming HD I do say that yes they are non-cannon to a outsider. But forget that. If we only have a handful of battles, some super weapons, the ability to cause death on a whim, bring people into existence, cheat death, and use powers of nature to thrash people; then we still have a good list and with that it can be speculated that the force can be taken to unimaginable degrees. Sources: Darth Plagus the wise; force spirit Obi=wan/ben kenobi; force spirit yoda; force spirit Anakin/Darth Vader; force spirit Qui Gon Gin; Emperor Palpatine/Lord Sidious; General Grievous etc...
+trevor cameron That is all in the eu. None of that is cannon. The only cannon source that I know of that shows the jedi and sith in their full potential are the movies, and some books and the tv shows. Gandalf is a maiar.... basically a lower god. He helped shape the freaking worl with the Valar. He can just say "Vader you are dead" and Vader will die. You know why? Cause he is a maiar. He has the valar to help him and all of his back story is canon unlike the star wars expanded universe. KOTOR is not cannon therefore it does not count. Most of the darkhorse comics are not cannon.... so they don't count.  the only canon stories that exist as fact in the Star Wars universe are the films, The Clone Wars animated series, the Star Wars Rebels series, and future novels. Gandalf (Orolin) and all his backstory is cannon and is in the Silmarillion which is very much cannon. Vader is a mortal and cannot come close the Gandalf. Especially when not held back.
