Meaning behind the song:
Nov 23rd I received a letter from St Jude Children's Research Hospital talking about Christmas coming up and the excitement of the kids for this time of year. In the letter it quickly reminded you that there are some kids that will not make it through next year and this is what inspired this song. That night I sat down and began writing out this song, took a break for Thanksgiving and finished it Friday 25th. I put all other songs aside and focused in on this one, to share the story of a child faced with an uncertain future. It is the saddest song I have worked on, but it is my hope that it will move people to compassion. I cut myself out of the video on purpose, this song is not about me, but the story.
How to Help:
Prayer: The biggest thing is Prayer just take a moment and pray for these kids and their families.
Donations: if you have some money you would like to donate, send it to St Jude it will help the families pay for the treatments that their kids have to under go.
Cards: I have been told they love receiving cards.
As I look out my window I shed no more tears
Because I'm reminded of home and that Christmas time is here
The leaves have all fallen
The children laugh and play
Making snowmen and angels
Excited for the day
They think and wonder what Santa Claus might bring
But for me this year is different, much different for me
The doctors have all said, not much longer will it be
Till I go home to Jesus and set upon his knees
And as I lay in Mama's arms trying to sleep
I listen to her heartbeat as she prays for me
So if you were to ask me what I would want this year
It's not a toy wrapped with a bow, but for another year
Recorded live on an iPhone
A full rerecorded version will be released to iTunes with all proceeds going to St Jude
