Inland Manufacturing Co., along with Gunblast.com, recently awarded Carl Barton of Clarksville, TN a standard M1 Carbine.
Carl is an old friend of Boge's. They share a love of traditional acoustic music, and have played music together many times; they share an interest in history, world events, and politics; they share a love of God; and they share an interest in collecting antique pocket watches (Carl is actually an accomplished clock maker). When Carl told Boge that he was looking for a standard M1 to display along with his mementos of his military service during the late 1950s and early 1960s, Boge set about the task of finding a suitable carbine for his buddy Carl.

Boge found most of the original carbines on the market unsuitable for many reasons: the condition of most was poor; many of the carbines had been altered in some way; and those that were in acceptable unaltered condition were just too expensive. This was not a surprise, as the originals that have seen hard decades of military service will not be in good condition, and those that one would call "Collector Grade" are, like any such items, priced for Collectors.

Boge discussed this with our friend Ron Norton of Inland Manufacturing Co., and Ron had the solution: Ron sent a beautiful Inland Manufacturing Standard M1 Carbine to present to Carl Barton in order to honor his friendship with Boge, and to honor Carl's military service.

Carl was overwhelmed at the gift and the gesture. We thank Ron Norton and Inland manufacturing for their cooperation in making an Old Soldier very happy.
