Squelch is my take on percussion-heavy electro house. It's available as a FREE download at http://jazari.bandcamp.com. It uses Vio (http://transformyourvoice.com), an iPhone/iPad voice processor I helped develop, Arduino-powered robots on drum kit, djembe, bongos, and bells, a custom 84 LED button MIDI controller outfitted with an Atmega 2560. I was going for something like Justice and Wolfgang Gartner, in Africa, on acid, being attacked by robots.
I had never made a video before, but I was familiar with the Processing programming environment and with particle systems from working on Vio, so I figured I would try to make a trippy, psychedelic video using footage from one of my recent shows. Most of the video was rendered one image at a time and then assembled into movie files for editing.
