This is the the opening concert for 1992 Olympic games in Barcelona. Freddie Mercury and Monserrat Caballe performed their hit song "Barcelona" in the Placa D'Espagna Barcelona. It was Freddie's last live performance.

The erroneous comments on this video hurt my head. a)Freddie Mercury died in 1991. b)His death was not officially announced at the Olympics in 1992. c) His performance was a video playback from a live show. d) This was not Freddie Mercury's last live performance because it was not a live performance and he had already passed away some 18 months prior to the Olympics. Even if you are not old enough to remember all of that there is no excuse, a quick Google search will tell you everything. #mindnumbing

Freddy Mercury and Montserrat Caballé's song Barcelona was produced as the theme song for the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona and recorded in 1987. It was featured in the TV transmission of the opening of the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, but not performed live because of Freddy Mercury's tragic death in 1991. The live performance in the video is from 8th October 1988 when Mercury and Caballe performed three songs by the Magic Fountain on Montjuic at a music festival called "La Nit" which celebrated the arrival of the Olympic flag from the Seoul games to Barcelona. This would be Freddy Mercury's final live performance. The facts! RIP freddie, still miss you

This was recorded in 88 [i mean the song as well as the original concert]. Freddie died in "91.

The best front man who ever lived. There is another video of this performance where you actually see everything on cue, music and Freddies voice. I think he did an amazing job of the duet. What a talent he was and such an amazing voice. Saw Queen in  Montreal in 1981. So long ago but I will never forget. If he were alive today he would still be the best ever.

Beautiful in every way

this takes my breath away each time I see and hear it. It is one of the most beautiful duets of all time with such a perfect combination of contrasts and such a backdrop. Just wonderful.

Isso não foi em 1992.
