A local jewelry store was the target of a break-in early this morning in Shreveport. On September 17, 2012 at approximately 3:39 a.m., Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to an alarm call at a jewelry store in the 4800 block of Line Avenue. On officers arrival there, they observed that the store's front glass door had been busted out and merchandise from inside the store was found strewn across the ground outside of out the building.
A search of the building was conducted by K-9 officers; however they were unable to locate the suspect. Video evidence recovered from the store's surveillance system records a male subject peering through the stores window just moments prior to the break-in. The same subject can be seen breaking into the business and making entry inside the store. After several minutes inside the business, the suspect is seen exiting the building making off with an undisclosed amount of merchandise. It appears that the suspect may have sustained some type of injury during the break-in as blood evidence was recovered on scene. Detectives are combing through surveillance footage at this time as the search for the suspect continues.
