A Horizon survey has exposed how little awareness the public has of dairy industry practices, with only half the NZ population aware that a cow needs to have a calf each year to produce milk and over three quarters vastly underestimating the number of bobby calves killed each year. In the dairy industry, it's business as usual to breed millions of calves into existance, only to kill them just days later as an unwanted byproduct.
