While visiting Northwest Georgia, a Civil War reenactor explained the origin of the bugle call "Taps" and how it is related to the American Express financial instituton. We were at the Alatoona Pass, GA battlefield, near Cartersville, GA.
Cartersville, GA. is the home of the Booth Western Art Museum. This Smithsonian affiliate has the largest permanent exibition of Western at in America. Cartersville is also the home of the Etowah Indian Mounds, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Cartersville is a great vacation destination.
