Junior doctors in the UK went on strike for the first time since 1975 on Tuesday, with medical staff all over London joining protests. The historic strike is in response to the government’s offer of a new junior doctor contract that National Health Service (NHS) staff argue will destroy safeguards on their working hours.
Outside the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel, East London, junior doctors rallied with their supporters to raise awareness of the strike and their concerns for the future of the NHS.
