Ready to shift the way you help connect students to Jewish prayer? The Jewish Education Center of Cleveland is pleased to introduce, "I'm Gonna Stand Up!" - a website of gold and silver challenges for 5th-ish graders on the Amidah. This video explains the program and points teachers, parents and informal educators to the website: ImGonnaStandUp.org.

This is the third offering by the JECC that helps shift the teaching of Hebrew for pre-B'Mitzvah students in part-time Jewish educational settings.
1) Hebrew Through Movement - a revolutionary way to teach Hebrew language that fits the timing realities of one and two day a week programs. Check out the overview video on HebrewThroughMovement.org.

2) Let's Learn Hebrew Side-by-Side - a program that supports the delay in teaching Hebrew decoding part time settings from 3rd/4th grade to 5th or 6th grade. Do children really need to spend 4-5 years in our classrooms learning decoding and then practicing the skill on Hebrew prayers? Check out LetsLearnHebrew.org for a sample and more information.

3) I'm Gonna Stand Up - whether worked on in class or at home, ImGonnaStandUp.org builds on children's natural spirituality, and reinforces the recitation of prayers of the Amidah.

And why the shifts? "Let's Turn Hebrew Learning on its Head" explores the issues we've been having in part-time Jewish education and offers thoughts on changing the current educational model that has been in place for decades. http://tiny.cc/oibgkx
