Video production & photography tip for creating stunning bokeh on the cheap using Christmas lights! I found these Philips 30 LED battery-powered lights at target for about $2 during there after Christmas sale. I thought these will look great on video.

They look beyond fantastic! I now keep a few strands of both battery-powered and traditional Christmas lights in my ac bag. Simply using these lights have spiced up a lot of boring products shots and made for some very interesting portraits.

/// Bokeh Definition
Bokeh simply means fuzzy or out of focus. It is used to refer to the effect of shallow depth of field that creates a pleasing blur of color behind the subject. The type of lens and the depth of field play a large part in determining how out of focus the area is and whether or not it creates a pleasing effect in the image.
