A little rust is no reason to panic. Sticky seasoning can be cured too. Follow these simple steps to refurbish your cast iron finish, and you'll be cooking for decades to come.
1. Scrub your cast iron with steel wool. 2. Wash with warm water; use soap if desired. 3. Dry your skillet completely. 4. Coat the entire skillet using a small amount of vegetable oil. 5. Place aluminum foil on the bottom rack of your oven. Place your skillet on the top rack, facing down. 6. Heat your oven to 350°F. 7. Let your skillet bake for 1 hour; allow to cool in the oven.
