On January 10, 2014 at a U.S. House Subcommittee Hearing for U.S. East Coast Offshore Oil and Gas drilling former Congressman Rush D. Holt, Jr., from New Jersey stated that: "The Atlantic Coast has been dubbed the "Saudi Arabia of Wind" because of enormous wind potential offshore. The Department of Energy estimates that more than 4,000 Gigawatts of offshore wind potential is found along the coast which greatly exceeds what's needed to power the entire United States."
Louisiana's wetlands are vanishing at a shocking rate. They lose a football field of land every 45 minutes to an hour. This area is primarily destroyed knowingly by the oil industry. But, they don't care and to this day they refuse to pay to fix it. It's cheaper for them to pay for politicians that won't hold them accountable.
