Georgia Aquarium is thrilled to have worked with Google to host the first-ever Google Week during October 26-30 2015. During this week of exploration, collaboration, and solution seeking, Google gifted over 3,500 Title I students from Georgia the opportunity to visit the Aquarium, with lunches and transportation provided - free of charge!
In particular, students in grades 3-5 learned about different animals, their habitats, and how ecosystems are affected by pollution, trash, and overfishing. Students were encouraged to consider the impact they leave on the environment by engaging in a variety of activities, including an educational dolphin training session and venturing through our Aquanaut Adventure gallery using iPads to solve puzzles and answer challenges aligned to Georgia Performance Standards in science.
It was our honor to team up with Google to provide this opportunity!
