Margaret Batiuchok, of danceMB.com, current dance teacher, Harvest Moon Ball champion, Swing Dance Hall of Fame, president and founding Board member of the NY Swing Dance Society (NYSDS), and one of Frankie Manning's early partners in the early 1980's , lead over 2,000 dancers in a Shim Sham the closing night of Lincoln Center's MSNS 7/25/09 in honor of the late Frankie Manning in a double tribute to Illinois Jacquet and Frankie Manning with the Harlem Renaissance Orchestra and Houston Person, - dedicated also to Frankie's girlfriend Judy Pritchett...Possibly the world's largest Shim Sham!

Margaret Batiuchok was the one who had the idea to do the Shim Sham every Sunday once a night en masse at the NYSDS's weekly 's dance at the NYSDS's Cat Club. Frankie would lead it there when he was in town and later took the Shim Sham and this tradition around the world as he traveled spreading his love of dance- and it exploded into what it is today! Frankie's Shim Sham is now done globally by all swing dancers around the world, thanks to Frankie... including those original dancers in his home town... where it all began...NYC.

Margaret taught the shim sham earlier in the evening to 750 people, a record number for MSNS, and possibly for a Shim Sham class, and also did a swing demo with Sonny Allen, and ran a Lindy hop contest in honor of Frankie judged by Margaret, Sonny, Illinois Jacquet's widow and manager Carol Scherick, and NY's own Lana Turner. and finally by audience feedback. It was monumental night!
