This video features Carol Capobianco, Director, The Native Plant Center at Westchester Community College, and two instructors of Go Native U who also serve as volunteer coordinators of the certificate program.
Native plants are those that occur naturally in a region. They are essential to a healthy landscape. The Native Plant Center and the College's Continuing Education Division developed the Go Native U courses and certificate program to teach home gardeners and professionals alike how to garden sustainably with native plants. Students can register for individual classes or enroll in the certificate program, which comprises 18 hours of core courses, 17 hours of electives, and 15 hours of community service. Most classes offer LA-CES credits for landscape architects. For more information about Go Native U, call 914-606-6830 and press 1. Westchester Community College's main campus is located at 75 Grasslands Road in Valhalla, New York.
