On August 12 2015, an Atlantic Airways helicopter spotted a large pod of pilot whales in the Faroe Islands. The whales were hunted and driven into the killing beach of Sandavágur. A Sea Shepherd small boat fiercely defended the whales against the violent attack. 5 Sea Shepherd volunteers were arrested. 61 pilot whales were eventually slaughtered. Sea Shepherd fast boats Spitfire, Echo and Farley as well as the tender of the MV Brigitte Bardot have all been seized by the Danish Navy and Faroese Police during this years Operation Sleppid Grindini and last year's Operation Grindstop 2014 following direct action defending Pilot whales and dolphins from a brutal slaughter of the Grindadrap on the beaches of the Faroe Islands.
What can YOU do?: Please help us restore and strengthen our fast boat fleet by donating generously to our appeal so we can continue to defend whales and dolphins!
THANKYOU for your support, we really are grateful for everything our supporters do for the Oceans.
