The Washington Square Theatre, as it was first called, was Quincy's largest and most beautiful theatre. The architectural style is that of an a-typical Mediterranean Revival with Byzantine influence. This brick structure is distinguished by the abundance of terra cotta detailing seen in the trim, decorative panels, pilasters, and cornice. The exterior adorns colorful terra cotta ornamentation, featuring blues, greens, off-whites, and reds. The most prominent feature in the interior is a wraparound second story balcony.
