In Lao People's Democratic Republic, women and girls are faced with the daily hardship of collecting water for their families. They travel long distances and make numerous trips. Ms. Buakham's story is one of many whose life has changed as a result of a water supply system in the Sing district of Lao People's Democratic Republic. The system has supplied piped water to more than 1,700 homes and businesses since it began operations in 2010.
