Røros was the centre of copper mining in Eastern Norway from the 17th Century to the 20th Century - this is where the ore was brought to be smelted. They have three hundred years of slag piled by the side of the former factory which is now a museum. The town itself is mostly made of wood and climbs up the hill to the smelting works which are near the top of the town. As it is so hilly and my partner is slightly disabled carrying the video camera and helping my partner was difficult so I just took the stills camera with me. The music is: Grieg - morning from Peer Gynt suite followed by: Mosolov - Zavod (Iron Foundry) The day was beautiful and even the slag heaps looked pretty. made with SMILE (Slideshow Maker In a Linux Environment)
