Here in Southwestern Pennsylvania we have what has become known as the underwater ghost town. I am of course refering to the former town of Somerfield which was destroyed in the 1940's when they constructed the dam in Confluence. During a few months in winter when the water level is at it's lowest Somerfield can be seen once again. There are two stone bridges...the town's sidewalks...foundations. Even the stumps that were formerly large trees along the main street can even been seen. Old Route 40...(The National Pike)...still runs along the floor of the lake. This clip features the larger of the two stone bridges. I recorded this clip on November 13, 2010.
