Robert Stjärnström is the singer and songwriter of the Swedish metal band MACHINAE SUPREMACY that became a net success in 2001 (long before YouTube, Facebook and MySpace) thanks to a viral circulation of one of their first songs. To this day they advocate file-sharing, free downloading and proudly present themselves as a soundtrack for the open Internet culture. Robert´s lyrics promote the potential our online existence, as well as shine a light on the conflict created when an older generation tries to force its increasingly irrelevant machinations on our new world.

Robert has produced five studio albums, more than 120 songs, scored several computer and video games as well as performed with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
