Paxil make my depression worst...
Algirdas Balciunas
This med works well. I tried SSRIs before like sertraline, citalopram, prozac and mirtazapime. All were shit more or less. But then switched to velafaxine which has a two way effect and is SNRI. Much more effective and be careful with the dosage, start with the lowest rather and then increase if you feel need it. Also consult your GP always :)

It's my understanding that Effexor XR's benefits for depression are worth the terrible withdrawals. But you must withdraw under a doctor's care.

Im curious if anyone has lost weight while on Effexor? I was taking 75 mg for a month and lost ten pounds. Dr recently upped my dose to 150 since I was still feeling socially anxious. Since ive started 150 I crave junk food so bad. When I was on 75 mg it also helped my ibs but since ive gone up to 150 not so much

U sound like u know as much about meds as a Pharmaceutical Rep or a medical student. I love your fed back on Effexor as I have taken It sense 2001. I don't know many people that understand the drug or Its HORRIBLE withdrawal effects. I actually know a So called Pharmaceutical Rep who dose not seem to know half as much as u do about medications. This guy is a jerk and dose not even understand the kinds of people who takes the meds he sells.

Hi, I know this is an old video you have made but I was just asking for advice of you if you could.ive tried all the SSRIs and all they did was give me a fast heartbeat for some reason doc says I'm sensitive to them.so then I tried SNRI effector same thing fast heartbeat.now I am trying cymbolta it is day 5 on 30 mg no fast heartbeat as of yet but now and again little flutter but nothing serious just wondering what are your thoughts on this drug primarily it is for anxiety and depression your thoughts would be much appreciated Thanks.

Your method of withdrawing from Venlafaxine is very hit and miss, because not all of the 'beads' you mention in the capsules contain the same amount of active drug you are withdrawing from. It's basically impossible to tell the amount of active drug vs 'filler' ingredients in each bead within the capsule. It's placebo effect. You are much better off getting hold of the immediate release tablets and gradually chopping bits off - but even that will be hit and miss when you get down to very smalls amounts for the same reason as above.  Also, why didn't you try 30mg of Paroxetine (Paxil) before quitting? It may have balanced out some of the side efects vs benefits...

I am down to 10mg pAXIL! (After seventeen years) I am coping, but socially anxious (I have aspergers). I don't know whether to try anything new. 20mg was perfect for me ....but yes, napping once a day ...and chubby : ) but don't want depression ever again x

Thank you for making this video. I had many of the same issues with Paxil, particularly the lethargy and weight gain. I usually get lost in my art projects and don't want to eat, but Paxil seemed to give me cravings just like what you described. What's worse, it stopped working for me! I'm also about to switch to Effexor soon. I hope it will suit me better than Paxil did.
