Following his pioneering 1976 paper on "The Double" as a same-sex "soul image," Mitch Walker sought to expand a gay Jungian understanding to encompass important theoretical implications of the Double concept, such as a homosexual organization of the fundamental libido and of the ego-Self axis, the idea of "individuation as gay." In this video, Dr. Walker will read his 1989 paper, "A New Theory of Male Homosexuality" (published as "Jung and Homophobia" in Spring 51), summarizing the growth of his considerations to that point, and will also share comments on these ideas and where his thinking has gone since, followed by a lively conversation with the audience.
