TEDx Talk Tryon - A powerful RX for personal healing and forgiveness can come when we share our stories. In today's fast-paced and forward-charging society, many people may never take time to share with others the stories that have shaped their lives or to listen with understanding to others. What stories do you need to share?
Journalist, author, and workshop facilitator Robin A. Edgar offers reminiscence workshops for eldercare facilities and organizations such as Hospice and the Akula Foundation. Based on the sense memory techniques in her book, In My Mother's Kitchen: An Introduction to the Healing Power of Reminiscence, she demonstrates how to use reminiscence as an effective tool for long term care planning as well as to cope with loss or change due to illness such as Alzheimer’s or the death of a loved one.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
