This video explains how to share information by using Pinterest. Pinterest is one of the fastest growing social media platforms at the moment. It is an image-sharing site where you as a user create digital boards with different themes, much like mood boards, and share with others. You can follow and gain followers. You can also comment on others "pinned" images, and even re-pin them onto one of your own boards.

You can easily pin a product image from the BIMobject® portal onto one of your boards. Once on the board the link back to the portal will be shown as the source of the image in the bottom of the image. From there you can also tweet your pin, share it on Facebook or embed it on another website.

In this video we are shown how easy you can share content from the BIMobject® portal by using our social media bar. Since we are not using any plug-ins or flash, the link back to the product page on the portal will be viewable on all devices such as smartphones, tablets, laptops and of course workstations.

This is a great way to create mood boards with products you would like to use in a design project, and share with others. And when in the design project you can easily go back to the BIMobject® portal and download the actual product as a BIM object that you can use in your BIM system.

There is no requirement to register and/or log in to browse the products which means that sharing content will be even more convenient. It is not until you, your friends and followers decide to download the product you just pinned to one of your Pinterest boards that they need to register and/or log in. Once logged in they can choose to download the product to some of the most commonly used CAD and BIM systems, such as Revit, ArchiCAD, AutoCAD or IFC.
