This is a song I wrote in February of 2009 after a trip to New Orleans. I had discovered Frenchmen Street for the first time and was knocked out by a women who I saw sing in a tiny club called the Apple Barrel. I had taken a long break from playing music myself, but her passion was contagious. On the 1,000 mile drive back up Highway 61, all through the Blues Delta and Clarksdale Mississippi, I could not stop thinking about her and how amazing she was that night. I knew that one day, I would have to play a show on that very street. I knew I had to pick up my guitar and harmonica again. As soon as I got home I wrote this song as fast as my hand could write. I never thought for a second about the next line, it just poured out. This song wrote itself. It was the beginning of Dirty 2.0. I will never forget the woman who inspired this song, and the impact she had on my life's path.
