Just for the record, I speak loudly because my grandmother has 90% hearing loss in both ears. I get so many nasty comments from people telling me to stop yelling at her. I have to yell to be heard by her. To her it doesn't sound like yelling, it sounds like normal speaking. I live with, and care for my 94 year old grandmother with dementia. I also have a husband and two sons. There's a lot of laughter and a lot of joy in our house. We very often have sleepless nights, and we shed a few tears of frustration on all of our parts. They're my family though, and I'll do whatever it takes for however long it takes to keep my family cared for, happy, and feeling loved. When all that has happened, I'll take a nap.
