This is what a fertile egg looks like after about 7-10 days. We weren't sure if our eggs were fertilized and had to test. The "Candle light" test was not effective for us but that might be from feeding our chickens calcium supplements for harder egg shells. Or perhaps we weren't doing it correctly. We cracked this egg open prematurely and discovered that an embryo was in fact growing. We learned the hard way that we have fertile eggs. We won't be doing that again.
