On the 22nd November 2016, U3A members from across the UK gathered at Friends Meeting House, London, to celebrate reaching the historic milestone of 1,000 U3As.

U3As are self-help learning organisations for retired and semi-retired people. In U3As, the learners teach and the teachers learn. Learning is undertaken not for qualifications, but for its own reward: the sheer joy of discovery.

They are supported by The Third Age Trust.
