Due to a derailment involving an empty BNSF coal train at Kewanee just before Midnight on May 3, 2012, Amtrak annulled its Chicago-Quincy ILLINOIS ZEPHYR and CARL SANDBERG and detoured the CALIFORNIA ZEPHYR and SOUTHWEST CHIEF over the latter's old route, BNSF's Chillicothe Subdivision east of the Cameron Connection. Note Friends of the 261's NSRX 186, ex-MILW Skytop Lounge Observation built for the TWIN CITIES HIAWATHA in 1948, bringing up No. 3's markers.
