Also, tea party backed Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC) made outrageous comments on how as people become more dependent on government they become less dependent on God.

I don't think he meant that God physically gets smaller. It sounded like it was a metaphor for how we treat Him: the more we praise the government, the less we praise God. That's what it sounded like to me.

Hmm...then why does the constitution say that the government may not endorse any religion? "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion" The constitution clearly separates the Government from ANY God.
